Scrap Metal!

OK, so, you knew “The Good Ones” was a clothing company, right? But here’s the thing…the thing is…OK, so there’s this band. And there’s just something about them. Remember that call-all-your-friends-this-very-minute-because-life-can’t-go-on-without-hearing-this-song feeling? Or that first-track-on-side-one-of-your-best-mix-tape-ever kind of awesome? Well, they’re a bit like that. As February wraps up, we’re gonna share a whole lot more about these guys: Stuart, Adrian, Franklin and Bullfrog. They’re brave. They’re funny. They’re ready. And they call themselves The Good Ones.

Click on over to and you can hear the song that put ‘em on the map. It’s called “Scrap Metal!”—and we’d love to hear you singing along.

Korie Ong - Hi, i think that i saw you visited my blog so i got here to “go back the desire”.I am trying to find issues to improve my site!I suppose its good enough to use a few of your ideas!!

We’ve got a blog!!

We’ve got a blog!! But first I gotta tell you something and ha, it may not be the best “first” blog post ever. Jami Davis send us a behind the scenes video last night that was beyond cool.  It had footage from our photo shoot we did last month in Austin, TX.  Loved it at first sight, loved it at first sound. Yup, it was complete with a song off The Good Ones album.

So excited to share it, I called Joe (10) and Gabe (6) in to watch it with me. Gabe instantly smiled and hummed a bit.  He loved it. The last video (which you have yet to see) had Gabe singing the lyrics for days and a constant begging of “can we watch it again? And demanding that I fast forward to the end. Of course, he plays a role in the grand finale! Nothing like seeing yourself on film.

And Joe? Well, he didn’t love it so much. I looked over to see his eyes swell up with tears as he dropped his head and ran upstairs. I fully admit I was a little confused and to be real honest, a little irritated he would act like that when Gabe and I were in full smiles! I walked upstairs, sat next to him with my arm around his shoulder and asked him what made him so sad? He looked at me with his eyes pouring out the tears and said “Mom, you said I could go see The Good Ones in Tx with you.” Man, I had to hold it together cuz I wanted to laugh so hard, he really thinks of The Good Ones as a Band, as something other than just boys clothing. Seriously, it is the sweetest thing ever.

We so hope your son will feel the same. Well, okay not the sadness with eyes of tears but the feeling of being part of The Good Ones.

Matt sums it up best when he talks about why we started a boys clothing line.

“But why?”

Ever been asked that question, a few dozen times in a row? It’s the sound of a world that’s brand-new. That’s inspiring at every turn. That’s yet to be figured out, and yet to be second-guessed. A world that will never let you down.

“But why?”

Why? Well, it’s pretty simple. We wanted to celebrate the boys that that light fireworks in our souls.

So here’s a line for their imagination, for their joy, for giggles and for eyes that twinkle. For creativity and adventure, for catching snakes and carrying frogs in pockets, for carving names on a tree, for chores (and allowance), for homeruns (and strikeouts), for dancing and, yep, for rock & roll.

Here’s also one for a busted lip, for a flipped BMX, and for first scars. (A scar is nature’s version of a tattoo—for stories they’ll never forget.)

Most of all, here’s one for friends forever.

steph s - ALL morning….looking at your new blog/flipping back to mjc blog and look books….trying to determine what my son must have to coordinate w/ his sis. the coming of march first is like watching grass grow….come on already!!! My lad NEEDS a boxful of mjc creativity so he can shine…with dirt under his nails, bruises (which he calls BLUE-ses!!) on his knees, forehead and shins. oh, and his every drippy nose, cow-lick I’ve grown to LOVE and those big bright brown eyes that love that boy. this morning, while holding my hand, he told me he was gonna marry me all day long…on sunday/monday/tuesday/wednesday/thursday/friday. I asked, “saturday, too?” “yep, mommy, all the days of the week!….and ALL DAY LONG!” oh thank u for making boys clothes!!!!

Ogrodzenia Plastikowe - I as well as my friends have been digesting the best advice from your web site then then came up with a terrible feeling I had not thanked you for them. Those boys became as a result passionate to see all of them and already have seriously been loving those things. Many thanks for truly being simply kind and also for having such nice subject matter millions of individuals are really desirous to learn about. Our own honest regret for not expressing appreciation to you sooner.
